We were one of those teams in our first ever NCAA appearance.  SunBelt Champs!

And it was great.  Sure beats being the bottom of the BE.

I disagree.  I'd rather be in the big east, knowing that WHEN we make a tourney we'll be a 12 seed or higher.  Our women's team is projected to be a 10 seed.  I wonder if Gonzaga and/or Memphis will ever leave their conferences, though.  I have to hope they win every year so my 2nd team has a chance to get in.  Same thing with Butler this year and they lost to Wright State.

Oral Roberts University has a player with probably the single greatest name in the entire history of NCAA Basketball...

Kenn Tutt (he was born in Arizona...lived in  a condo made of stone-o)

I agree that I would rather be in the BE, but that's not entirely true.

George Mason (a severe bubble team last year) was an 11 seed.

Witchita State was a 10.

UAB was a 9.

ETC.

Good teams are going to get good seeds no matter what. Butler will be a 7 seed despite not winning their conference regular or tournament championship; they did win the preseason NIT though.

We would not win those conferences in their recruiting type settings

I am not saying we would have won those leagues, but we would have been in the thick.

Most of our current players wouldn't be here if it weren't for the Big East. However, McCullum has shown the ability to recruit to a mid-major conference, so you may be correct in your assessment.
