This will be one tough decision... his toughest.

I think it will be a money issue if Mac comes back.  I don't see how this season is a "significant improvement" from last year.

This will be interesting.

I don't think the money, at the level that would be required, will come into play too heavily.  The trade-off for success on the court will be worth more than that.

I think the money issue is not about what McCullum's buy out would be, but what would be the cost to hire a new coach and really commit to a well defined change...McCullum at $200K - are you guys serious?  To get the instant impact you guys clamor for the school would have to commit at least 5 years at at least 700K, along with increased recruiting funding, improved facilities, etc.  It's not RMC's paltry salary, but whether or not we wish to repeat the mistakes of the past - or truly commit to a new era of Bulls Basketball.  I don't know whether or not we can.  The know-it-alls like to quote Genshaft's salary or something ridiculous like "we're a big school."  The money has to be there all the while we need to improve a number of programs.  What football has done in terms of opportunities for our school athletically, has created numerous challenges for the athletic programs all over at USF.  There is much work to be done and hence the knee-jerk doesn't work.

^^^ that's what I mean.  A money issue in general... buyout, extra money for new coach, etc.

Well if these so called booster rumors are true than it wont be about money issues. I can tell you that much.

What booster rumors?  Are there more this year too?  When a rumor is followed up with the cash it is no longer is a rumor.  I'd like to see that.

Somehow I doubt DW is sweating right now since he is watching the women close out Seton Hall.

Fine... when he gets back to his hotel room.

He can’t run from the situation.

Still, I don't think he will be "sweating" much. Whatever his decision is, it was more than likely made before he left for Hartford.

if DW has found the "right" coach for this job he bullieves he can sign, then mac will be fired.

if not then mac will be back in a "caretaker" role giving DW more time to spiff up the job and find that coach.
