Brad Posted March 3, 2007 Group: Admin Topic Count: 13,332 Content Count: 97,088 Reputation: 10,859 Days Won: 469 Joined: 05/19/2000 Share Posted March 3, 2007 I think the money issue is not about what McCullum's buy out would be, but what would be the cost to hire a new coach and really commit to a well defined change...McCullum at $200K - are you guys serious?  To get the instant impact you guys clamor for the school would have to commit at least 5 years at at least 700K, along with increased recruiting funding, improved facilities, etc.  It's not RMC's paltry salary, but whether or not we wish to repeat the mistakes of the past - or truly commit to a new era of Bulls Basketball.  I don't know whether or not we can.  The know-it-alls like to quote Genshaft's salary or something ridiculous like "we're a big school."  The money has to be there all the while we need to improve a number of programs.  What football has done in terms of opportunities for our school athletically, has created numerous challenges for the athletic programs all over at USF.  There is much work to be done and hence the knee-jerk doesn't work.
