Hey Brad...

I was thinking we should form a thread that lists all the excuses why our basketball program is in the toilet..

1.)  We don't have any money to hire a good coach.

2.)  Who would want to come here?

3.)  Our facilities are terrible.

4.)  No winning tradition

5.)  No good players in Florida

6.)  USF?  Isn't that in Naples

That shoudl atleast get the list started.

Shalom..

Sure..

7.)  Ignorance does not equal dollars

8.)  The average message board critic does not put money where mouth is

9.)  Armchair coaches never lose - they just whine

10.) Ratio of three to one pesonnae on the board equates to just one butt in stands (maybe)

11.)  Thanks to lotsofbull99, Allah hates us

12.)  The Basketball Progam never got over having Smazza as a ballboy

13.)  Don't forget the Indian burial ground

14.)  Ari is not our coach.  With such a darling and charismatic presence he'd certainly recruit McD all-americans

15.)  Did I say The Basketball Progam never got over having Smazza as a ballboy?

There have to be more, I'll see.

What about some more :

21.)  Mac is great guy and that is all that should matter cut him a breat

22.)  Mac goes to church every sunday and sets a great example have some class.

23.)  Does winning even matter.  We are here to play the game.

24.)  Wins and losses are just that - wins and losses.  We have nice uniforms=contract extension.

I feel like we are watching the 1993 Tampa Bay Bucs.

We lose and lose and lose and lose -- but our coach is a nice guy and it SEEMS like he is building a program although we don't win much, but hey, he is a nice guy and that has to count for something.

What a joke.

The guy will have made almost 1.5 million dollars over the life of his contract.

Sure, but it'll have to wait until after we sue Greenberg for his teams collapse EVERY February when he was here.

(Seriously, wasnt there talk of a lawsuit against Greenberg b/c his contract said he couldnt interfere w/ players he recruited to USF. Zabian Dowdell had verballed to us, then swithced to VaTech and we didnt pursue it)

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
