I wouldn't be surprised if Galen Hall follows JoePa.

I just hope Shiano continues making Rutgers a strong team, good for The Big East.

Pumped for that Thursday night game up there, they may be undefeated also.  8-)

Go BULLS !!!

there is that lack of sophistication again

hoping schiano continues to make rutgers stronger-dont worry your wish will come true.he is doing that!

bizarre

Big deal, they were one and done this year.  They were overrated all year.  They lose 17 of 22 starters and will work hard to finish 6th or 7th in the conference this year.

Wasted payroll.  It's Rutgers, don't get excited.

Wow, do you speak just to hear yourself?  17 of 22?  More like 14 retuners for next year.  Then again, people like are some of the dullest knives in the draw for a reason. ;D

Yep, PSU will be all over Schiano I would think when Paterno finally retires.  Not sure if RU will be able to compete with the deep pockets of PSU and the facilities they have as well.  Plus its pretty much the face of North East College Football.

Penn St. is a far cry from what they use to be in the Northeast.  PSU use to own NJ, NY and any other spot in the Northeast.  PSU used to get an averaged about 5 to 6 Jersey kids a year without trying, but that's not the case anymore.  In '06 PSU got one Jersey kid and this year 0.  PSU has moved more into Maryland where they are doing well, but have more competition with Terps and other ACC schools.  Even getting the few kids NY produces is harder than ever.

They hardly "beat" USF in Tampa.  Amp Hill dropped a two point conversion in the endzone to tie the game late.  They no one that they shouldn't have except L-Ville in a miracle.  They are the oldest football program in the country and they had a very good year last year.  Prior to that they have been the laughing stock of the country for 100 + years.

I live in the NE and get to see them regularly.  They will come crashing back to earth this year.  USF needs to pay attention to WVU and L-Ville like every year.

RU is a one hit wonder.

i live in LA and i saw more of rutgers than you

they beat usf in tampa.usf couldnt stop the run or stop rutgers when they had to

no one is laughing at rutgers

schiano is doing what leavitt should have been doing last 5 years

We need to continue donating to USF Athletics to pay our coaches. In the next few years with our expected success, there may be some crasy numbers thrown Leavitt's way  :o

Go BULLS !!!  [smiley=GoBulls.gif]

That's not how Rutgers is able to do it.

Increased financial resources generated by the football program, including corporate sponsorships and record ticket sales, will fund the contract increase,

Thus far, as reported by USF there have only been approximately 400 new season tickets sold.  The number of non-renewals won't be known till after March 1.

He either wants to be the coach at USF or he doesn't...if he truly wants to be at USF the money won't change that.  Hasn't he said more than once that he's overpaid?  When his salary becomes a major priority then Jim Leavitt will become a former coach of USF.

Looks like $1.5-million a year, which is good now, but can't imagine that contract staying intact even five years. The buyout is $1-million, which is double Leavitt's right now ...

There's a lot more to it than just $1.5 million.

The four-year extension also includes three elements that reward longevity and show a mutual commitment by Rutgers and Schiano including a house loan funded by private donations and annual longevity bonus for Schiano. The contract also includes a buyout, which begins at $1 million.

RU is a one hit wonder.

RU beat USF by being one dimensional with the run... 200+ yrds worth by Rice.  Now that Teel is improving by leaps and bounds in the passing game expect more to counter Grothe and Ford.

Shoulda, coulda and woulda just don't cut it.  Hill's dropped 2 pt pass is the same as RU 6 (4 unforced) turnovers the year before that cost RU the game against USF at RU.
