Mike McGowan, Tight End

Usually TE's end up on the Ends of the DL ... they usually have the speed to work in there.

But with many HS recruits, they are athletes that you get them in and shape them or see how they gel into a position.

But 6-5 and 260 plus is a great start !  8-)

Right, but I'm guessing with his size (and potential increase in size), he's probably not a burner.  So I figured he might project as a more athletic DT as opposed to a DE.

4.8 40 yard dash is not too shabby for a 255 lb. guy.

Indeed it's not......but how much stock should we really put in these reported 40 times?

There is so much inflation of these measurables sometimes, it's sickening.

McGowan isnt going to enroll till 1/08.  coaches want him to get bigger.  so it sounds like he will get moved to a line position somewhere down the road.

he's a good kid, smart also ... my brother is his science teacher right now at west boca. The coach there, Willie Dodardo, is a good coach, really cares about the kids there.

he's the same HS coach as James Pinkney, ECU's QB

Said he's excited to be going to USF and can't wait to get here

If he's gonna have a Rat teaching him, then he won't make the grades to get past the Clearinghouse... ;D

Let's see here; beefy O-linemen, great speedy blocking fullback, big tight end, a couple of really fast halfbacks... does anyone see a posible trend here?

Gentlemen, we have a running game.
