A JUCO kicker will have some experience, and be a bit more of a known quantity.I'm not in the habit of using USC as an example, but USC had both a JUCO punter and a JUCO kicker on their team this year. I wouldnt be surprised if some people argued that sending any star WR over the middle shouldnt be done because they might get injured. Football is a risky game but why not use your best athletes to return kicks? I've never understood that. Not only that, I can't remember the last time I've seen a returner get hurt anyway.
