Big East to double the number of weeknight games

Welcome Bulls.  I don't really know much about your school, but it will be a nice addition to go down to south Florida for a few games out of the year.  Rumor has it that the Big East's new deal with ESPN will actually decrease the current revenues of the current Big East teams (no shock there), but ESPN wants to show most Big East games on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and possible Sunday night games (when there is no NFL).  Just wanted to see your thoughts?  I know our fans will come out no matter what, and we are excited to play on TV on any night.

Isn't the new UConn stadium a goodly distance from campus? Wouldn't that make weeknight games harder to get to for the students?

Yes, the stadium is in East Hartford, but buses take students to the game.  The regular season tickets have been sold out through 2008.  We hold weeknight basketball games in Hartford and get thousands of students to attend.  I have no worries that they will attend weeknight football games.

I just can't see us playing a Tuesday or weeknight game. It's getting to be all about the money now. That's all BS. I don't go for it!!!

I thought college football was supposed to be played on Saturdays.  I dont mind Thurs or Fri night games too much, but a game on a Tuesday is just ridiculous.

Is this for for football ? Your stadium is sold out ? 45K tickets ?

Tuesday night games-that SUCKS!  I don't mind the friday night games too much, however, it should be reserved for high school football, I would prefer a thursday night game over a friday night game.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
