With a week or so to go til the game... about 40,000 tickets have been sold.

20,000 tickets sold (includes ECU and USF)

15,000 tickets sold (corporate buyers)

5,000 tickets sold (general local sales)

The key, as they say, is getting all those people to show up.  They say anything above 30,000 would exceed their goals.

I don't expect to see more than 20K at this game, if that many.

Tickets sold and attendance are two different stories.  I'm guessing closer to 20,000-25,000.  Corporate people don't go to these games.  They'll be some but most will try to give there tickets away.

Well at least they are getting corporate support. Ill say there will be 25,000+  at the game.

Sorry, Mike, just being realistic.

There is not really big time sports in Birmingham, so i would imagine the community would somewhat support a sponsored event.  Talledaga is not so far away, and they have a couple golf and tennis tournements a year, and UAB.  That's it. There's plenty to do there, watching professional sports is not one of them.  That's what separates the Orlando's and Birmingham's of the world from the Tampa's

Plus the 20000  between the 2 schools is probably them having to buy the difference.  There is no way us or them have bought 10000 tickets, if so, I'll do a backflip.
