... freeing up scholarships for others in January.

Some coaches always leave a scholly or 2 available for any late available recruit.

The few that did not qualify for USF last time, made schollies available for others ... 4get the names, but Brett mentioned it in an article a ways back.

That's is why coaches will usually not even confirm the recruitment or avoid a question at all. Slip ups happen now and again.

The problem is a lot of reporters don't know all the rules and just push it a tad to far. If you have 4-5 hours read Section 13 of the NCAA By-laws. Very intringuing (that is a joke)
