The University of Central Florida hired John Skladany to fill the role of defensive coordinator on the Golden Knights' football coaching staff on Monday. Skladany joins the staff from Iowa State University, where he spent the previous 10 seasons as the Cyclone's defensive coordinator.

He had the opportunity to go back to the area he is more comfortable with.  He had no Florida connections.

had he been smarter, he would know that Iowa State hired a new head coach and he brought his own people, so it was a smart move.

Yes - going to University of Houston to be their DC.  Kind of a puzzling decision to many UCF fans (me included) from a pure footbal perspective, but that's as usual because as casual fans, we don't really know jack squat, just wish that we did.

Aside from being pissed that he had no input on the new DBs coach, he wanted to go back to where he is comfortable and that's Big 12/SWC country.
