  1. Is he gone?? Yes - going to University of Houston to be their DC. Kind of a puzzling decision to many UCF fans (me included) from a pure footbal perspective, but that's as usual because as casual fans, we don't really know jack squat, just wish that we did.
  2. I was very suprised...he looked better than I thought he was. I am not sure if that is a statement of how BAD our defense is our how GOOD Grothe is. Either way, for a TF he looked very good. He had great composure and threw well on the run. Not that it matters...but Grothe is a redshirt freshman.
  3. LOL!  Was it even reported in the Sentinel? The violation was last night so I doubt the Sentinel even knew about it until today after the paper was out.
  4. Smith missed curfew last night and GOL has a policy, if you miss it, you don't play. I'm not sure who the other guy who was suspended or why.
  5. You might be right. I was impressed with Peters...tough runner. If we can find a way to beat USM next Tuesday night (on ESPN2 by the way), I will feel much better about this game today. I have to say it's better to lose a well fought game vs. a blow out embarassment like last year. The difference? This year I didn't puke. Good luck next week.
  6. It shouldn't be played, if for no other reason than UCF is begging for it so much. Honestly, tell me - did you go to the game?
  7. The USF fans were definitely loud. This is just more evidence that the game should be played every year. I would challenge anyone who has been to the games to say otherwise.
  8. We moved the ball and got first downs today easier than I would have thought, especially without our best offensive player, Kevin Smith. The difference was Grothe. He will be a special player over the years for you guys.
  9. USF came up one play better today. I would challenge anyone who has been to these games to say that it shouldn't be played. Congrats Bulls, good win.
  10. ...do about it that matters. With Ellis for example, he was suspended by O'Leary indefinetely on November 5th which was within days of his arrest. He was never allowed to practice or play again. Clearly this crime deserved the punishment he got in terms of his status on the team. Same with Harris, he was kicked off the team immediately. Players will do things, but its the reaction by the coaches in my opinion thats important. Leavitt clearly has a longer leash for his players when it comes to punishment for incidents like this. Since O'Leary has taken the helm, any wrongdoings are punished harshly, and the result is you get less incidents from your players. In addition, most if not all of the issues were from players that he did not recruit.
  11. I doubt GOL worries too much about where he is ranked either. I agree that GOL has a lot to prove, and he knows it. You know what is worse than beating cupcakes? Losing to them, which is exactly what was occuring before. His leadership and coaching is exactly what has started to turn the ship around. Grades have improved dramatically, facilities are being completed, and community interest is much higher than it has been in years. GOL has played a role in all of that.
  12. I don't get the 6 win incentive. But I think that GOL and staff are good enough coaches to make UCF a top team in CUSA year in and year out. He is a nationally recognized coach and this contract eliminates any school from using the "O'Leary won't be in a year" recruiting tactic away from opposing schools. This is all predicated on him generating winning seasons, year in and year out. All school's have coaching questions. I'm sure there are many USF fans who don't understand why Leavitt hasn't made a move on the offensive side of the ball with respect to coaching with what has happened over the past few years.
  13. It is a rediculous clause. No way to sugar coat that.
  14. Why wait for someone else's opinion when clearly you have one to share. Let's hear it, Knoxville.
  15. This sounds like your Christmas wish list. What makes you think the novelty of a new stadium will wear off? That doesn't even make sense from your "I Hate UCF" view point. It's all going to go come down to product - more wins and less losses. GOL and company are good enough to compete for the CUSA championship year in and year out and get to a bowl game as evidenced by visible improvements in recruiting and facilities.
  16. There are clearly many similarities between KSU and USF...and I don't think that it is a coincidence that Leavitt is using a similar scheduling model as to what KSU started back in the day when they started to rise. A key difference between USF and KSU is that KSU had an on campus stadium, and in order to help increase profitability to pay for that stadium, they were scheduling 7 home games per year, and I think 1 year they played 8 home games. I think I remember reading that they simply would not play OOC road games, period, and because of that, there only road games every year were the conference games.
  17. Yes it's not true in CUSA, but you know that of course. It wouldn't matter for UCF regardless. We don't take non-qualifiers.
  18. This is typical of most of the major conferences I believe. How would this rule have effected USF's previous recruiting classes?
  19. Tim Jones' numbers are impressive. To come in at 6'2" and 277 Lbs and run a 4.8 40 and jump 36 inches is **** impressive.
  20. I clearly remember Davis from the UCF game. The guy just looks like a monster. I would be very surprised if doesn't become a starting OG in the NFL very soon.
  21. A DE from Ohio State did 45 reps on the bench at the combines....it either tied or set the record. The guy was 6' and about 260 lbs, too.
