Guest BasketBull.
http://cfn.scout.com/2/551853.htmlBest Offensive Player: Senior QB Perry Patterson. He has the size, the arm, and the mobility to be a great all-around quarterback. Now he has to put it all together and be a consistent passer and a better leader of the offense. While he has the starting job, that could quickly change if he struggles early onPerry Patterson Jr. Games: 9  Rating: 118.1 attempts: 237 Com: 127 % 53.6 yds: 1499  ypg: 166.6 TDs: 10  INT: 3 Best Defensive Player: Senior LB Kelvin Smith. The 233-pound senior projects as a better outside linebacker at the next level, but there's not a more sure tackler in the Big East and he should be in the hunt for defensive player of the year honors in the middle.http://cfn.scout.com/2/557817.htmlOct. 28Cincinnati 17 ... Guest Rueben_Horowitz
Throw away the stats. Defense:SU has a great LB crew; if they can stop Grothe from running, it will be a close game. Their secondary isn't great, but it's not bad, Joe Fields will play on Sundays. Offense:SU's QB Patterson isn't bad, if he had someone on the team that could catch, their record would be much different. To be fair, Frosh WR Mike Williams is solid, but USF's experienced secondary should shut him down. SU would have blown out Cincy if the WR's/TE's caught 50% of the passes that they dropped. RB's Carter and Brinkley are good; both can break some long runs. Since it's in Tampa: USF 24SU

If they stop Grothe from rushing, then Cuse will have to figure out how to be better than 74th in the nation against the pass. Let's not fool ourselves here...no one is saying USF is "definitely" going to win, but let's not pretend the Orange are better than they are. twillybull Posted November 8, 2006 Group: Member Topic Count: 53 Content Count: 1,757 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 09/12/2005 Share Posted November 8, 2006 If we let Syracuse come into RayJay and beat us, we don't deserve a bowl game (or to play D-I for that matter). USF should win this game. On the flip side, can you say "potential landmine game"? The only team that can beat USF this weekend is USF... something we've seen them do allready three times this year. Don't count on Syracuse to roll over and play dead. Look for them to be more than miffed at the shutout from last year. This is a game USF absolutely NEEDS to win.
