I'm confused. Because them along with Navy have a sweet deal with the BE bowls that if they become bowl eligible they can go to a BE bowl. Now, why do we have to put up with that? I don't know. Yes, exactly as outrunner and moises have posted. because of the way that certain bowl contracts are structured, ND has the potential to pick up a potential BE bowl slot, making one less opening for BE bowl eligible teams. Because the bowls aren't forced to take BE #2 or BE #3, and have the option to pick out of order, it means that lower level bowls automatically become more likely for USF. So, when ND goes to a BCS game, USF has a chance of playing at a better bowl game. The best option for USF is to see ND and the top two BE teams make the BCS field.
