Is the defense different than last year?

I'm not knowledgeable enough to know the defensive schemes, but it seems like we are different from the past.

What's different (scheme-wise)?

I bulleive that the thin and inexperienced line hasn't been as effective stopping the run, thus we have blitzed less often than in the past.  Hopefully that changes with Julmiste and Clerbert returning.

I can't really comment enough on schemes as I have really only "watched" one replay.

But am sure having Clebert back has really helped Run Defense.

Agree that the lack of blitzing has been the thin D-line.

Having Julmiste back has really got to help.

Have been impressed with Cray's play though ... really getting penetration and getting to the QB's.

Still am really suprised with Chris Robinson. #49 really reminds me of old #41, Pierson. This kid is very athletic and makes things happen. A serious SPEED Rusher from the end.

Selvie also seems to be a very solid and complete DE and he and Julmiste should be strong the rest of the season and the next 2!

D is different in that we don't blitz.  Period.

We're less agressive schemewise with less stunting and blitzing.  Coverages look pretty much the same.
