Week 7

1) USF's Game

Sat 10/14 - USF (4-2, 1-1) @ North Carolina (1-4, 0-3) - Noon [ESPNU]

2) Games involving one or more schools on USF's 2006 schedule.

Obviously we should follow these games.

Fri 10/13 - Pittsburgh (5-1, 2-0) @ Central Florida (2-3, 1-1) - 8:00pm [ESPN]

Sat 10/14 - Syracuse (3-3, 0-1) @ #5 West Virginia (5-0, 0-0) - Noon [big East GOTW / ESPN Gameplan]

Sat 10/14 - Army (3-3) @ Connecticut 16 (2-3, 0-1) - Noon

Sat 10/14 - Oklahoma State (3-2, 0-1) @ Kansas (3-3, 0-2) - Noon

Sat 10/14 - #24 Rutgers (5-0, 1-0) @ Navy (5-1) - 1:30 [CSTV]

Sat 10/14 - Cincinnati (3-3, 0-1) @ #7 Louisville (5-0, 0-0) - 3:30pm [ESPNU]

Sat 10/14 - Florida International (0-6, 0-3) @ Miami (FL) (3-2, 1-1) - 7:00pm [ESPN Gameplan]

Sat 10/14 - Texas State (1-4, 0-1) @ McNeese State (2-3, 0-0) - 8:00pm

3) Games involving Notre Dame and Navy, because of their ties to Big East bowl games.

We want Notre Dame to do very well and Navy to not be bowl eligible, to ensure more open slots for Big East teams.

Sat 10/14 - #24 Rutgers (5-0, 1-0) @ Navy (5-1) - 1:30 [CSTV]

IDLE: #9 Notre Dame (5-1)

4) Games involving teams two ranked teams and at least one of the teams is ranked higher than the 2nd highest Big East team.

If the highest and 2nd highest teams can move up and up the polls, then there is at least a chance that 2 Big East teams could make the 10 BCS slots.  Big East ranks: #5 West Virginia; #7 Louisville.

Sat 10/07 - #2 Florida (6-0, 4-0) @ #11 Auburn (5-1, 3-1) - 7:45pm [ESPN]

5) Games involving a Top 15 non-BCS team, or a non-BCS team ranked higher than any BCS conference's highest ranked team.

If no teams from the non-BCS conferences make the BCS, then that would mean 4 at-large slots in the 5 BCS bowls.  This increases the chances for 2 Big East teams to be selected.

NONE -- Highest ranked non-BCS team is #20 Boise State; Lowest rank of a conference-leading team is #12 Clemson (ACC).

6) Other games of interest.

Sat 10/14 - #4 Michigan @ Penn State - 8:00pm [ABC]

Ranks used are AP Poll. After October 15th, the official BCS rankings will be used.

Repost because there is a game tonight, and since my flight to Raleigh-Durham is at 6:00am tomorrow - I might not be able to post tomorrow.

Nope ... you would need a Sat provider and get the sports package ... or head to one of the Watch Parties listed on this site.

So ... the BCS poll will reallybe the only poll that counts for the remainder of the season.
