That is 6 players, about a handful... real baseball fans can name dozens of red sox throughout history.

Giants are perrenial losers as well.... red sox win most of the time for the last 100 years, just not the W.S.  Look at historical winning % to tell you who has a better history.  Giants have had no one to compete with and still haven't won as much as the sox, have had the "best hitter" (i use that term loosely) in the game for years and years and still can't win.

Giants are minor leagues compared to Boston Red Sox franchise.

Sorry VG, but outside of Boston, most fans regard the BoSox the same as the Cubs - losers. No one cares who lost the world series, or who lost the championship series, or what a franchises winning percentage is. Ask any fan and 99.999999999% wouldnt have a clue as to their clubs winning percentage, but I would bet most know how many championships they have.

yawn... this debate was between SF and Boston... San fran has no reputation.... they have had a few great players... as have other franchises... but they don't have a glorious image.  I'd much rather be the consistantly good team waiting to break through that the somtimes good usually bad team.  Bosox will win it all this year, and then the whole "curse" thing won't be ammo for yankee fans anymore  :P

You have to get to the playoffs to even have a shot at losing and be remembered as a loser.

Giants aren't even remembered at all most of the time, because nobody cares who finished 20.5 games out of first every year. ;D

And the common baseball fan actually could care less who made the playoffs. Im a DRays fan (as sad as that is) and speaking from outside this arguement, to most baseball fans its the Yankees and everybody else. The only clubs in my opinion that may come close to also being a storied franchise is either the A's or Cardinals. Outside of that, nobody cares about your franchise unless you win it all. And sad to say, but most fans know that the Cubs and BoSox havent won a championship in forever. So to say that the BoSox are more "storied" than the Giants or basically anybody else is just wrong. Atleast to anybody outside of Boston.

and as far as giants/bosox issue.don't waste your time.

The giants are a storied franchise with some of the games greatest players while boston is the joke of baseball

not even close between giant histry and bosox history

if you look... smazz is the one saying that San Fran is heads above the rest...  I'd agree it is Yanks and then all the rest, as far as franchises are concerned....  but, leaving the yanks out of the picture... Boston is the best of the rest, regardless if they have not won a series in near a 86 years.  The cubs have been aweful the entire time since they won their last series... the Sox have been steady, always being trumped by the yankees.  Cubs have been bottom feeders.  Giants have nothing on boston... the giants are better than the cubs though
