Have you ever played football?

You script upt to the 1st half. Then make adjustments at half time. Until your team is getting shitcanned you stick with the original gameplan. It was 0-0 and we had success moving the ball. We drove the ball inside their 25 twice, didn't make the 4th down (Leavitt's choice) and threw an INT to end the half.

We did make adjustments at the 1/2 but Kansas's ball control was unfreaking believable.

As for the 3rd down draw. It's the offense, and Grothe runs it well. The best example of how that play is to be ruin I can give is Tim Tebow running the exact same play against Tennessee on 3rd and 4th down 5 or 6 times last week and they never stopped it (they knew it was coming every time) or any game with Vince Young last year...However, that play is good for 2 reasons. With the QB running you have an extra blocker, Grothe runs well. Our Oline just didn't block well. It is a good play if ran correctly however.

Grothe is a gem, he runs well and passes well. Taking his legs away would just hurt how well he can run the offense.

better teams like rutgers and the like will stuff grothe like a clam  and shut down that garbage draw

Get rid of CJL?? This team is young. We are going to be pretty good this year, but I think next year we are going to be bad to the bone. Our future is looking bright. Fix the ACL and stop smoking weed and we will be ok.......

Maybe the first 8 or 12 or even 15 plays, but never the entire first half.

Like thebouncer said, the first couple series are scripted, but not usually beyond that.

Then again, if you have insider information that Rod Smith is scripting the ENTIRE first half, maybe that explains a LOT!

This isn't high school guys.

Most colleges script up to the 1st half. Steve Spurrier scripts most of the game as does Charlie Weis.

A script does not have to go by the book. Rather it is a formation and idea of what you want to accomplish on each play. Not sure how much they let Grothe change things on the line, as he is young.

While usually only the 1st 12-15 plays are scripted by the book, the rest of the half is generally scripted beforehand with forks in the playcalling as the circumstances demand.

running game has to improve...some how some way....ponton better be practicing his ass off...hopefully this is eating him alive watching this nonsense knowing if he had made better decisions the team would be better off

Did you guys watch the same game I did ?  Offense ?  Why are you even talking about offense.  I don't have the numbers but I am willing to bet that Kansas had a big lead in time of possesion.  When that happens your offense has very few oportunities.  The D has the majority of the blame for this loss if you are looking to blame someone.

                     Pat Julmiste at QB - Wow smazza we sure cannt win now.

                     Thed Watson - when not injured he is a good OL

                     SJ Green & Ean Randolph - two good WRs

                   YUP, LOOKS LIKE A TOTAL REBUILD FOR THE OFFENSE.

                  Now DEFENSE:

                     NO ONE ON THE "D" LINE

                      Pat St Louis & Stephan Nicholas LB  two good ones there but it seems to me we have a great history of good linebackers.  some reason you think that will end ?

               DBs:  NO ONE !

               WOW AGAIN  LOOKS LIKE 3 YEARS OF REBUILDING THE D

                  WE ARE LOADED WITH FRESHMAN AND SOPHS ON THIS TEAM SO AS RED FOREMAN WOULD SAY " DONT LET THE FACTS GET IN YOUR WAY DUMBASS."

Joe, I think the problem may be that you aren't differentiating between a "script" and a "gameplan."  

There is NO WAY Spurrier scripts the entire first half.  If there is any coach that calls a game by "feel," it's him.  But like I said, if you DO have inside information that Rod Smith IS INDEED scripting the whole first half, that certainly explains a WHOLE LOT!!!  :-/
