Velcro is on it.  What is Coker's record at the U?  Something like 53-9 or so?  The pressure to win is on you right when you take that job.  I don't think Leavitt would even be considered, but why would he go?

OJB-YOU ARE CORRECT

LEAVITT DOESNT HAVE PEDIGEE FOR MIAMI

USF'S PROGRESS HAS STALLED

I just can't in my heart of hearts say he would never leave.

I mean did Florida fans expect a guy like Spurrier, who had rebuilt a program in deep NCAA sanctions into a national powerhouse to leave for the NFL when he was at a job where he's security was permanent and the fans worshiped the ground he walked on?

Mac Brown took a UNC program that was hurting and turned it into a top 10 team in the late 90s, they finished in the top 10 and he had the support of all the fans after he spent 10 years rebuilding the WHOLE program. He left in 97 (10-1 record ranked 4th) for the Texas job (they were 4-7 that year), and UNC hasn't recovered since.

My point is if a big time job (Michigan, Miami, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, Florida, FSU, Tennessee, etc) opened and CJL were offered $2M to take over the program could one really fault him for looking into it as it is a top job in college football.

That being said, I don't forsee it happening anytime soon, but I also don't think we can be naive enough to say it will never happen.

I certainly couldn't fault him for leaving for that much money, but i don't think money is the only thing and he will get paid as the program continues to progress... (which it is smazz)

I dunno...  Miami stole Fran Curci from the University of Tampa in 1971, the year after UT beat 'em.  Good thing we didn't beat Miami, right?  ::)
