Pope has the experience of a couple of minicamps, but I'd think, given the choice on the Sunday after the draft, they'd have taken Hall. He can catch Pope relatively easy. He has to show he's worth keeping as a fourth running back, and special teams is the best way to do that. Or have Benson or Jones get put on the physically-unable-to-perform list ...

At some positions, such as running back and on the defensive line, injuries may force some players to go longer than the usual quarter.

Adrian Peterson, who will start Friday, could be one of those people, though fellow running back P.J. Pope, a considerable long shot to make the roster entering camp, is suddenly getting a long look as well. The same goes for newly-acquired Andre Hall, who, like Pope, is an undrafted free agent rookie.

I think all Andre has to do is Avg. over 22 yards on his returns and they will keep him.  If he averages more they may even move him up on the Depth Chart ahead of Pope for the RB position.

why would his punt returns move him up on the RB depth chart?

If Pope and Andre are fighting for the 4th rb spot to make the roster and are cpmparable, the st play will probably be the determing factor in moving one ahead of the other on the depth chart ....... Basic football knowledge, really.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
