Using YOUR information, this is what I gather:

- with NO running threat, he had 2 - count em - 2 300yd passing games against a schedule that's not lighting the world on fire(outside of the Oklahoma game).

- Blackwell produced 2,900 yds of TOTAL offense with only 18 passing TDs, while completing almost 60% of his passes. those numbers dont add up at ALL.

Are the 2nd most and 1st most, USF passing records or conference or what? If it's USF records, come on, we're not arguing whether or not Blackwell was USF's best passer ever. We're arguing how good he actually WAS, in the grand scheme of things.

Inconsistency shows up when you play good teams. Am I the only one that remembers being EXTREMELY frustrated watching the Oklahoma and Arkansas games?

When you're playing inferior competition, you can get away with it. When you play teams worth a ****, they make you adjust and they make you put DRIVES together. Blackwell gave us lots of big plays, which is great, but he also led a LOT of 3 and outs.

No. What I said was that the inconsistencies SHOW UP against good teams. That you can GET AWAY with it vs inferior opponents. It was always there, it was just covered up by other factors: the defense, weaker opponents, timely turnovers, etc.

When you're playing inferior competition, you can get away with it. When you play teams worth a ****, they make you adjust and they make you put DRIVES together. Blackwell gave us lots of big plays, which is great, but he also led a LOT of 3 and outs.

That's ridiculous in 2002 USM, UNT, BGSU, Memphis, NIU, and Houston were not 'inferior' talent wise to us.  That's ludicrous since five of those teams were bowl eligible and three went to bowl games.  We lost to an SEC, and a B12 team (which was ranked in the top 4 at the time).  If you expected to win, then you were in the extreme minority.  Our 2002 was very talented in certain areas, but they were not that much better talent wise, and I would contend they were not more talented then any of the aforementioned opponents.  That year we scored over 30 points six times, and we did lack a consistent RB, but we did have a decent RB stable with Brewer, Crossley, and Djuan Green.  We had a very balanced offense, and kept teams off balance with our running and passing attack.

I'd love to see your stats on three and outs.  Please produce to prove such a situation?  MB had few interceptions that year but he fumbled the fall five times that year- small hands.  I remember him fumbling on the three yard line when we were going in for another score against USM, it allowed them to make the game interesting at the end.  To ridicule 2002 is to act like you don't understand the extreme disadvantage our coaches were at in most of our 1-A games since most teams had a full compliment of 1-A talent they had recruited for five years or more, whereas USF still had much of it's depth riddled with 1-AA talent, and only about 75 kids on scholarship.  What our staff did in 2002 was nothing short of miraculous.  To suggest the inconsistency popped up when we played top talent is obvious, we were not capable of keeping with those guys back then, to much 1-AA talent, not enough depth, not enough explosiveness at every position.  Just to stay with Oklahoma was amazing.  You're not being fair if you criticize a fledgling 1-A team like USF was in 2002 for being inconsistent against powerful BCS programs.  That's just not fair.

I agree 100%, you have to play with what you have and against who would play you.

This was a team that was made mostly up of 1AA recruited talent.

I am also waiting for PROOF of an "inconsistant" offense that "sucked" ...
