They make more money in that conference than they could in the Big 12...They have their own TV contract. Maryland isn't leaving the ACC once again too much money there and going to teh Big East or Big 10 is worthless for them. The SEC isn't kicking Vandy out and Vandy isn't leaving, they make too much money and the institution academically is top 20 in the country. 2nd...The SEC and ACC are very big on academic profiles and Louisville and WVU (who was considered for both expansions in 1990 and 2002) aren't the best institutions for that...The ACC said Louisville's academic profile hurt them in their most recent expansion. 3rd...Neither conference is going to have more than 12 teams...Adding more teams to both conferences would lead to insane schedules and breaking up rivalries that currently exist.
