Joining Prado as a volunteer assistant will be former Devil Ray and Tampa native Tino Martinez. Prado's wife, Pam, is Martinez's sister.

I like how they mention, "former Devil Ray" and not, "former New York Yankee".   :)

Awesome... nice pickup.  A local guy, respected, great career, lots to offer.

Plus his mansion on Davis Islands is the shizzle.  Holy crap, what a house!

He's at the press conference along side Prado.  Other high profile assistants have been offered or considered.

DW is kick starting baseball again.....The Prado Team is a good fit for USF and the area.  Prado's family has been living in Tampa, he's home, he's back in a comfort zone more so then in Louisville.  That will have a positive effect.

I wonder if we will get any play on ESPN since Tino does Baseball Tonight?

Prado's bringing his top two assistants from Louisville -- former Miami pitching coach Lazaro "Lazer" Collazo, as well as Brian Mundorf, who's been a Prado assistant since his UT days ...

Tino, by the way, is very much a full-time assistant. Told me his ESPN contract is just a one-year deal, and his priority next spring will be USF baseball. Said he might do ESPN on the side part-time if the network wants that, but nothing that would keep him from working with the team and his brother-in-law. Impressive stuff ....
