USF vs. L'ville... Nov 18th.   Since we're going to be undefeated this season, going into L'ville will be a much watched game.  And by the way, we're going to CRUSH them again...

I don't think we'll be on unless both Louisville and USF are top 15 teams

Mich State/Penn State or UVa/Miami will probably be enticing matcups for ratings.

UVa is a popular pick for TV because of their large alumni base and the corner on the Washington, DC market. They are frequently on ABC and night games on ESPN because of this.

Cal v. USC will be on in about 80% of the Country, no doubt. Thats why ABC will pick up 2 top 10 markets in Miami and DC; or Detroit and Philadelphia.

You know, this isn't new people.

ABC has had 8pm games for years now.

And yes, smazza, when they show more than one game, they are regional broadcasts -- just like the ABC 3:30 time slot.

Now let's consider what games might trump USF for the conferences, ABC might show 4 games each night to different regions of the country:

Oct 7 - Conn @ USF

ACC: MD @ Ga Tech, UNC @ Miami, Clemson @ Wake (UVa @ ECU, Duke @ Bama)

Bg 12: Baylor @ Col, Neb @ Iowa St, TX A&M @ Kan, OK St @ K St, Mizzou @ TX Tech, Texas @ Oklahoma

Big E: Pitt @ Syracuse (WVU @ Miss St, Akron @ Cincy)

Nov 4 - Pitt @ USF

ACC: UVa @ FSU, Ga Tech, @ NC St, BC @ Wake, VT @ Miami (Navy @ Duke, UNC @ ND)

Big 12: K St @ Col, Mizzou @ Neb, Kan @ Iowa St, OK @ TX A&M, OK St @ TX, Baylor @ TX Tech

Big E: NONE (There are no other available Big East games that week!!!)

Nov 11 - Syracuse @ USF

ACC: Wake @ FSU, Duke @ BC, Miami @ MD, Ga Tech @ UNC, NC St @ Clemson (Kent St @ VT)

Big 12: Iowa St @ Col, Baylor @ OK St, TX Tech @ OK, Neb @ TX A&M, TX @ K St

Big E: Pitt @ UConn, Cincy @ WVU

Nov 18 - USF @ Louiville

ACC: Duke @ Ga Tech, MD @ BC, NC St @ UNC, VT @ Wake, Miami @ UVa (West MI @ FSU)

Big 12: Mizzou @ Iowa St, OK @ Baylor, OK St @ TX Tech,

Big E: U Conn @ Syr, Rutgers @ Cincy

Looks to me like the Homecoming game is actually the best chance we have for making an ABC regional game. Pitt @ Syracuse (PA and upstate NY) gives ABC a good chunk of the northeast on Oct 7th, along with Pitt @ U Conn (PA and New England) and U Conn @ Syracuse (New England @ upstate NY) on Nov 18th.  Rutgers @ Cincy on Nov 18th includes the NY metropolitan areas - that has to be a big bonus for ABC.
