Yep, its probably similar.  Green Jacket (mid '80s)= Iron Bull (mid '00s).  I doubt that he cancelled it.  He's a big player in the Tampa area, so I'm sure he still is a supporter.

He hasn't cancelled.  He still has his own parking spot in the donor lot.

Someone told me once that Steinbrenner and EC don't care for each other. I was told that it goes back to the days when the Tampa Yankees practiced at the red. If EC was to go, George would be the first person I went to for a recommendation on who to hire.

Florida went to Steinbrenner and the Yankees org to imply about who to hire for there opening 4-5 years ago whenever it was. The paper said they hired one of the VPs best friends who was coaching at Mississippi St.

There is a guy named Steve Webber who was the coach at UGA and worked as a field coach for the Yankees minor league system after he left there. I wonder what he's up to.

Donated 4K dollars to Betty Castors US Senate Campaign.  I opened the envelope that had the check.

No autographs please (sarcasm)

not true at all --he is not a huge republican supporter.   He supports both parties.  Pretty much stays out of the fray by giving money to both sides.
