USF, UCF Continue I-4 Rivalry With Mid-Week Contest

The University of South Florida baseball team (14-15) will look to snap a four-game losing skid with a mid-week game versus instate rival UCF (18-13) on Tuesday, April 4. The Bulls are coming off a series sweep at the hands of the Cincinnati Bearcats last weekend and will look towards turn things around with the teams’ first game of eight-straight in the state of Florida.

On the mound for USF will be sophomore Jim Cassidy, who will be making his first start of the season. The Medway, Mass., native holds a 2-1 record in 2006 with a 1.80 ERA, striking out 13 batters in 20 innings pitched.

The game will broadcast on “Catch 47” (tape delay) with Jim Louk (play-by-play) and Fred McGriff (color) calling the action. The game will air on “Catch 47” April 9 (9 p.m.), April 10 (1 p.m.), April 23 (9 p.m.) and April 24 (1 p.m.).
