Trip, did you come by the student area during that game? Its where most the UCF students parked. There were a lot there and they were al comingled with about 80% of the USF crowd hanging with some form of UCF fan. I'm sure another student could back me on this.

____Eats It pretty much dumped the "UCF" after the 9/7 if I recall correctly. I can think of only two others plus a new ID that just popped up .....

If 80% of our students were mingling with theirs and no riot police were called out, something's up ..........

puc, you have A LOT of growing to do to only play schools like that.  I guess the Ohio States and the Floridas, who regularly play non-BCS schools as OOC games, are below your level.  I wouldn't toss the "mid-major" term around because depending on who you ask, some consider the Big East to be among them.

They are at a much higher level than us and can play teams like UCF and still make it an event by their very presence; we are not are not a bright enough star (yet) to make a crap game with UCF shine to the national media.

Why are you guys so hell bent on getting routed by us every year in a game most people in the nation view as "The Bore on I-4"?  Why not lose to someone better than us and at least make ESPN? That way if you do pull an upset at least someone will care.

ESPN has UCF vs Pittsburgh already slated.  While it would be nice to have a nationally televised game with a team with a name people know, I still enjoy playing a local team in which friends are students and alums of.  I enjoy it for the familiarity.

Interesting that your biggest game, as far as national exposure goes, is against one of those BIG EAST mid-majors : You know the kind who's champ gets to go to a BCS bowl and whose champ this year beat the SEC champ in the Sugar Bowl, we are right down there with C-DOA :

Alabama losing to UCF did not hurt them in SEC so it did not matter. I feel the schools are rivals for students but in football there will not be true rivalry until we are in same conference. The UCF friends I have including people who work in AD consider your rival to be Marshall now that you finally beat them.

I certainly wouldn't say different conferences means something's not a rivalry. If that were the case, there would be no FSU/UF, or FSU/Miami before UM left the Big East, or Louisville/Kentucky.

puc--I see the point you're making with the BCS run-down, but you really think a football rivalry with Duke would be better than, well, anything?
