USF vs. UCF Recruiting

A little sensitive are we ?  I just do not take much stock in the recruiting rankings.  I think once you get past the top tier it is a roll of the dice. Some guys will get it done others will not.   If you really donate money I applaud you.  I am working on becoming rich so I can do the same.

Why is the past meaningless?  We did not just beat them, we outclassed them.  If we do it again next year we are obviously in another class than them.

Why do you know and care so much about UCF ????????? UCF has a better coaching staff ?  That is an opinion not a fact. If you are looking at their resumes this may hold true.  O' Liar has done a great job, no doubt.  But c'mon you have to give Leavitt credit for what he has done.  Lets compare schedules.  Here you go

As for UCF's record, I was mistaken but I did not take the time to look up their record either, my fault. BTW, you do not have to be rich to donate money and or time to USF. JL has done a lot while playing schedules just like UCF's, what has he done since the schedule has gotten harder, 2004 USF finished 116 in the Sagarin ratings and this year he finished 56th. Maybe that is acceptable to you but I see that as a FAILURE.

Let me spell out my point again to you: I DO NOT WANT USF TO BE COMPARED TO UCF, I WANT THEM TO BE COMPARED TO UF, FSU or MIAMI. You and others choose to compare them to UCF, closer to a mid major school then a top 25 school, not what I see as a great endosement for USF.  This is a difference of opinion and expectations, I respect the view of those like yourself that accepts the crawl before you can walk philosophy. I am impatient and I accept that as well. I want the best for USF just like you do, I am just not willing to view their success based on beating the UCF's, FAMU's, and Cincinatti's of the world. I look at the wins against LVILLE and Rutgers and the chances that got away against PSU and Miami as the path to success. Lets beat some ranked opponents like LVILLE and Rutgers on a consistent basis before we say USF has become a successful program.

Bullish I agree we should be looking to compare USF against UM, UF or FSU.  However, the Sagarin rankings you cite show sizeable improvement notwithstanding the tougher competition this year than last.

You are the one that said do not look in the past and you are quoting 2004 rankings.  Pass the pipe you are smoking something.  If you do not know what you are talking about , do not call people out on the board big guy.  Gets some facts straight and then talk.  Donating $50 does not make you special.  I may be childish, but at least I know what the hell I am talking about.

We slapped you like a little *****. It could have even been much worse.  You want a yearly series with us ?  Why ?  So you can get slapped around every year.

You know what's funnier is that some fools are even bringing USF v. UCF in the same breadth?  What has UCF done?  They're competitive against us in baseball, every other sport we absolutely dominate them.  They had one sport, football, that we had yet to play.  We obliged them, kicked the **** out of them, and now we're suppose to fear them?  Between rivals and scout we've got 11 players with three stars (if you buy into that trivial BS), and two four stars- UCF has six and one.  That's a big deal for them because the disparagement was much greater the past two years.  Throw-in transfers Amp Hill, and Ryan Gilliam.  

Throw out stars, USF signed 9 guys that were 1st or 2nd team all-state, UCF four, six if you count from other states.  UCF had three from Orlando Sentinel top 100, USF had seven....what exactly am I suppose to fear, and if you really analyze the reality the differential is greater then some website can trump up for uCF.  

The reality is we're looking at bigger fish?  Let's talk revenue generating sports- football, and hoops, oh and throw-in women's hoops.

How many ranked teams in those three sports have UCF beaten (1-AA, and DII doesn't count)- if you consider when they barily beat College of Charleston in men's hoops, and CC was ranked for like an hour that year, then that's the extent of UCF's big wins.  We've had more than that in the past twelve months.

Call me when they've done something, anything meaningful.  I've got to give George O'Leary credit he actually won something for UCF in a semi-competent football conference- that was UCF's first real accomplishment.  I don't give any credence to a team getting a hoops auto-bid in the 24th best hoops conference.

Don't act like I need to rever a program that hasn't accomplished a **** thing, and done even less against us.  I am not here to pad anyone's egos and reality usually comes shining through during the games anyway.
