The Tampa Bay Lightning placed Dave Andreychuk on waivers today at 12 p.m. In order to comply with the new collective bargaining agreement, Andreychuk, should he clear waivers, will be assigned to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, although the organization will not require him to report. This allows the Lightning to continue pay Andreychuk his 2005 -06 salary. He is also contracted to Tampa Bay for 2006-07.

I wonder if they'll give the 'C' to anyone else for the rest of year ....... Taylor, if anybody.

As much as I hate this move, from a winning aspect it had to be done. Andy was much slower on the ice and often fell off by the end of games.

Best of luck to him, I'll always appreciate his play in the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals. I was one of the few that was able to get tickets for face value and loved every minute of the game.
