Wow, this board is fast lol. Was signing on to ask if everyone is ready to move on from Brian Gregory, but I guess we have a consensus!

I agree if your going to get rid of Gregory you have to hire a proven coach, but seeing how it’s going around USF sports they won’t do that.

Nope. We need a guy with a serious resume. And if May is looking to make a move, why would he move laterally? If he's a hot, up-and-coming prospect as a coach, he'll have better options than us. I'm going to sound like a broken record, but Crean can come and rehab his coaching reputation or Brey can come as his final stop before retirement. Both would give us instant cred, and neither will need big time talent to win. They're Xs and Os guys. Last time around, Ben Howland was available and he should have been the guy if we could have gotten him (probably not because of Miss. St.).

He probably wouldn’t leave FAU for us, FAU will be in the American next year.

I'd be on the phone to Brey and Crean this afternoon, with a lean toward Brey. It just fits. He runs an offense that doesn't need big time talent and his family/grandkids live in Florida. And he's available today.

Brey's son is a football coach at IMG in Bradenton. Mike Brey is our guy . . . and his son wouldn't be a bad contact for Coach Go to have, huh?
