Most WAC schools outside of LA Tech are more geographically centered than Miami was with the Big East.

Miami is also a small school.

Miami was making the a big time bowl almost every year in the big east with less schools to divide the money by... i can't imagine that geography really made that a bad situation for them.

Football was a plus...Everything else was a minus.  The Big East was a big basketball conference.

i for one am happy miami left.

i think they will regret it more, as they see USF steal their recruits and rise as a national power over the next 5 yrs while they battle in the acc every year for a minor bowl

the orange bowl is in bad shape, but you gotta admit its cool to look out the endzone and see the palm trees with the skyline of MIA in the background. a lot of history in that stadium.

They don't play the bowl game there anymore.  Miami might want to look into using the Fins stadium for a while.

The Orange Bowl in all its crappiness is one of my favorite venues I have ever been to.

It would be a shame to tear it down.

After driving down there for the game, I swore I would never go back.  It is a dump and not worth the drive down.  I have six herniated discs and there were no seatbacks, got kicked twice in the back, kneed by a female hippopotamus jumping down the bleachers toward us, and it looked like I was walking through a third world country making the long trek to the stadium through the war zone.

You can keep it.  I am getting season tickets to the best stadium in Florida.  I consider myself blessed that we get to play in RJ.
