USF Sweeps BIG EAST Football Players of the Week

(November 21, 2005) After its 31-16 win over Cincinnati this past Saturday, the USF football team has picked up a sweep of the BIG EAST’s player of the week awards. Andre Hall is the offensive player of the week for a third straight time, while Tim Jones has been named defensive player of the week, and Jackie Chambers is the special teams player of the week.

Hall, a senior from St. Petersburg, Fla., had 100 yards rushing and one touchdown against Cincinnati, while also picking up two receptions for 22 yards. He also won the offensive player of the week for his efforts at Rutgers November 5, and he shared the honor with Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm one week later for his efforts at Syracuse.

Jones, a senior defensive tackle from Lakeland, had six tackles, including a sack, along with a crucial fumble recovery. He also broke up a pass.

Chambers, a sophomore from Miami, had five punt returns for 78 yards, including a long of 35. As a starting wide receiver, Chambers also had three catches in the game for 56 yards.

I kind of expected that.  Only 3 Big East teams were playing, we beat one of them and theother got beaten soundly by Notre Dame.

nothin' but Bulls.  Guess it helps that only a few teams were in action but Go Bulls!  Andre wins again along with Tim Jones and Jackie Chambers.  Awesome.
