Didn't say it was a guaranteed spot but if ND, WSU, OSU or any Independent is in the top 11/12 in the Committee's final ranking, they're in ..... so if ND is in the top 11/12, they're in the playoffs.

ND isn't on the committee. If there is a B1g/SEc team with the same record. Even if they are ranked one or two spots higher, the CFP will let them in. They suggested ND join a conference if they wanted to get in the playoffs. A four loss SEC team still has a higher strength of schedule then a 3 loss ND team. They may manipulate ranking to avoid the situation, but the days of being independent  and getting treated like royality are ending. You either join a power conference or die off slowly. In the next 20-30 years no one is going to care about ND anyways.They will be Wake or Duke without a conference. Their fan base is old and dying out. They don't play enough blue bloods or strong teams consistently to carry their brand long term in football. I speculate they will join the ACC or B1G in the next few years.

Think ND would have to get snubbed from the playoffs after finishing 10-2 before they entertain joining a conference for football. If they do it will probably be the ACC so they can play against USF football more….

The CFP doesn't "let people in", they rank teams and the playoff teams are based on those rankings.

Lol I may be crazy & all with the ACC rumors. However I’m not crazy enough to even attempt USF to SEC rumors. Lets see how USF does in the ACC 1st to see if they can eventually work their way up to the SEC lol 

Better yet, USF should eventually say thanks but no thanks to the SEC to join big ten due to the AAU status. Heck maybe the Big Ten will model itself after the NFL and create a nation wide conference which USF will become a member of the Big Ten South division.
