I wouldn't be surprised if Leavitt gets a "bump" in pay and uses KSU for leverage to get a new contract at USF.

I know I would.

Well, he just got one a few years back and he knows the financial situation, but when we win the Sugar Bowl and have an extra $5 Million  ;D

He and the coaches should get a bonus.  8)

I believe the only way CJL takes the job is is Synder asks him to. Following a legend (as Synder was for KSU football) is really hard to do. CJL will get a raise this offseason regardless I believe.

Money is tough to turn down, but even more tough is to leave something that you built from scratch... USF is JL's legacy, he built it... that trumps money.  I believe he'll get another raise, and he will stay... this is his job as long as he wants it.

tampa bay area has all the talent

usf doesn't need to overpay for a coach

we can underpay

a coach can win a national championship at usf

not at mizzu or ksu

underpay...smazza do you know what your talking about?

Yes a coach can win a national championship, and I don;t believe CJL is leaving, but he is going to want to get his market value like anyone else would want...

his point is that you can pay a coach under market value becuase he wants to coach here and the offer is more attractive than market value at say KSU...  which is correct

for once, he is right

I disagree.  Just because they go to high school does not mean they will go to college here.

I'd take Kansas State, a school with more tradition and in a better conference(with better opponents) over a newcomer with little image.  No offense.

Do you go to KSU, or did you?  nope, you chose UCF... i guess you wouldn't choose the school with "more tradition" after all ;)

Some people want to play for established programs, some don't.  They'll go with whatever they feel is right for them, most of the time anyway.
