Velcro... Pitt would have two losses in conference play still... we would still go to the BCS bowl. We would have to lose two games and then that scenario would be possible.

If WVU does find a way to beat us, I hope we get shuffled to Phoenix! That way, I can fly to Hawaii for hoops and come back to Phoenix for football! Yahoo! That would be the second best scenario... the best would be seeing USF beat WVU and going to the Sugar bowl!

As much as that would be cool, there's no way USF goes to Phoenix.  They're going to take Rutgers before they would take us.  They've pretty much acknowledged that they want a cold weather team, since they're more likely to bring fans.

I believe Louisville would go in that scenario since they would be the highest ranked team.

You are correct sir...

If WVU, Lville, and Pitt end up at 5-2 then the highest ranked team would go.

First, you look at their head-to-heard-to-head records.  They would all be 1-1 (WVU beat L'ville, lost to Pitt; Pitt beat WVU, lost to L'ville; L'ville beat Pitt, lost to WVU).

Then you look at the rankings -- since L'ville would probably be ranked higher than WVU -- they get the nod.

From the Big East site:

All three teams have either a 6-1 or 5-2 record and have each won one and lost one against the other tied teams in the mini-conference. In this case, the highest ranked team amongst the three earns the bid. If two of the three teams are tied for the highest ranking, the bid is earned by the team winning the head-to-head match up.
