twillybull Posted November 3, 2005 Group: Member Topic Count: 53 Content Count: 1,757 Reputation: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 09/12/2005 Share Posted November 3, 2005 Grothe isn't that good, barring injury, he probably won't make it off the practice team. As for Hill you CANNOT start a freshman QB in a spread offense, and expect it to work. Sure he'd probably do some good things, but would be a definite lock to lose 2-3 games just because of rookie mistakes. Grant Gregory is probably going to surpass everyone next season. Which could be good or bad. Julmiste could do a decent job for this team if given the chance with proper play calling, but he cannot win it on his own. Why doesn't anyone clamor for Denson? He's got a better arm, he's quick, and if the coaches would spend some time building his confidence he'd probably surprise everyone.

I think Denson could be decent and suprise everyone if the QB coach was effective with the QBs. Hill and Denson were these stud QBs that we recruited. What happended? These talented kids still need to be developed/coached at the college level. I find it hard to see the defense improve but not the offense. Is it possible for any type of QB to succeed here? I don't want us to scare away talented offensive recruits.
