Guest guest-bull
I started keeping a running count of penalties a few years ago, '02 or '03. There was a big debate on the board if penalties were affecting the games and if USF was commiting more penalties than normal that season. I've just sort of kept up the tradition even though the penalty discussion has died down. I also keep track of wins and losses, points scored, USF attendance numbers for home and away games and other things. My USF excel file is getting pretty big now. Kizarvexis I think I've got stats that go back further than that. I'll have to look them up if you want. It'll be Monday or Tuesday before I can post anything. You interested? (As mentioned in another thread) The 137 yards of penalties is tied for 8th on the list of most yards penalized in a game. (17 for 137 @N. Virginia had 5 for 33 yards.Average for the regular season.9.27 for 73.73 yards per game for USF (Down about .5 penalties and 4 yds per game from last week)7.09 for 57.82 yards per game for our opponents (Down 2.5 yds per game)Here are the last 5 seasons for comparison.2005 - 9.3 for 73.7 yds per game (doesn't include bowl game)2004 - 9.6 for 82.5 yds per game2003 - 9.4 for 83 yds per game2002 - 11.6 for 98.7 yds per game (school record)2001 - 10 for 88 yds per gameSo, the penalties per game are staying about the same, but the yards per game are trending down. I think this reflects less of the stupid personal foul penalties than in the past.Anyone have the penalty stats for each game from '97 to '00? Would you be willing to either post them here or e-mail me at b5wars@gmail.com? I really want to do a comparison over all the years, rather than just I-A.Kizarvexis
