From now on we should schedule all of our home games on weeks that the bucs play on the road.  We are talking 5-6 games.  It shouldn't be that much of a problem.  The only week this year that the bucs play at home is the UCF game, and it is only a problem because we have 3 home games in a row.

There are several challenges to overcome to do this:

1) OOC games are scheduled years in advance.  Not just what year the teams will play, but what dates.  USF has some control over this, but how do you predict what the NFL will do in 2009?

2) Big East games are announced in the January-February timeframe.  This schedule is dicated by the Big East conference NOT by USF.  The fact that USF plays 4 home games on 4 of the 9 weeks that the Bucs don't have a game (8 away games and a bye) was PURE luck.

3) NFL games are announced just before the draft every year.  This schedule is dictated by the NFL offices, NOT by the Bucs.  Even if the Bucs wanted to help USF scheduling wise, they could not.

What does this mean?

Well, it means that USF can do nothing short of hope to have the schedules match up.

We have to live with the fact that we play in someone else's stadium for another 15-20 years or so.

:-(

I work at a High School and the fields are always dressed for Homecoming week... And it is usually the coaches themselves who paint it and it looks awesome...  They (4-5 guys) spend most of the day doing it and it costs maybe 200 bucks... They Checker the endzones in purpla and white and put a knights' head (sorry) at midfield... 5000 bucks is a freaking Joke!

from what I've seen walking up the ramps at the games...when they repaint they pull up the sod that says Bucs on it....so we would have to buy new sod...lay it...paint it...pull it up...and then re-sod the areas....that would most likely explain the $5,000.....

I love when its painted for us and I wish we did it more...but I understand the pain it is....
