That umpire was clueless and needs to get his ass reprimanded.

He singlehandly gave Boston that game and has no business being out there.

Hell even that phantom third stike call on Rentiera was bullsh!t. It was obviously a make up call but like Statts said on the air, if you have to resort to making up calls.....what is the point?

I'll give the ump the benefit of the doubt on the tag, but the third strike call was absolutely horrible. The ball was right down the freakin middle of the plate (and waste high). Thats what you would call a "meatball" for a batter. How on earth he could call that a ball is beyond me. That call hurt more than the "phantom tag".  I dont think Boston scores in that inning, it was obvious Borowski was extremely ticked about that the rest of the inning and let it affect his pitching.

I'd say the opposite... the pitch was on the upper area of the strike zone at impact but had downward motion.. it probably was a strike, but it is close enough where an ump can easily get it wrong.

The Hall out at home was a big miss, but the angle was tough.
