Next thing you will see will be a logo on the helmet and a  modern uni (instead of ones that look like they are from 1959).

You don't know or understand PSU football.

That will never happen.  The PSU faithful would never let it happen.  You would have had to gone to school there to understand, but those uniforms are something very special.

You are right but never say never.  With a decade of losing (not saying it will happen), a uni change may be needed to generate revenue for the atheletic departm't.  Never is a word that does not hold up well with time.  Ya never know.  :)

I have heard about all that.  That is why I wrote it.  I never thought I would see Paterno with a wide open offense.

I know this is all in good fun.  I enjoy checking out your board.  You guys do a good job, a better job than some of the other, more established D1 programs do.

As far as the wide open offense, JoePa has run it when we have the tools to do it.  See the 1994 offense, one of the greatest college offenses in the history of the game.

Hey all, do you remember the last time we started the season playing a BCS opponent that just switched to a more wide open spread formation after a traditional offense the year before.

Ironically it was when we beat Pitt in 2001.  They had just changed to a spread formation, and we're very unaccustom.  The QB's were uncomfortable.  Can we do it again in Pennsylvania.

Sure.

Will we? That's an entirely different question.

it not going to be a whole new offense but i think they will try to spread people out more, instead of always being in more TE oriented formations.  I bet you see traditional formations 70% of the time.

Not in practice since our offense already institutes the spread.  Our base formation is four receivers.

I dont think Paterno will open up much and play the spread too often. He'll try his normal offense on us and if that doesnt work then you might see some of the spread.
