TAMPA, Fla., JULY 23, 2018 – A USF baseball member prepares for an all-star game appearance and two continue to bash, as summer ball enters the final full week in July.
 
Rising junior righty Carson Ragsdale (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) will appear in the Northwoods League All-Star game on Tuesday. The reliever has been dominant this season for the Madison Mallards, sitting fourth on the team with a 1.66 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 21.2 innings. He added to his strong summer with a pair of scoreless outings last week. Ragsdale pitched two innings on July 17 and 21, allowing a total of one hit with six strikeouts.    
 
Redshirt freshman catcher Jake Sullivan (Tampa) played in five games last week for the Savannah Bananas of the Coastal Plain League. He went 7-for-20 with a double, four runs scored and two RBI. Sullivan had three walks, a RBI and three runs to begin the week, then went 3-for-5 on July 18. He's fifth on the team with a .394 average, has scored 21 runs and driven in 21.  
 
Rising senior Joe Genord (Lake Worth, Fla.) played in five games for the Amsterdam Mohawks of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League last week. He had three multi-hit games, tallying two hits in three-straight games. Genord totaled five runs scored, a double, two home runs and five RBI. He went 2-for-4 with a homer and two runs on July 17 and 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI on July 21. Genord is batting .279 in 33 games this summer with seven doubles, 23 runs, six homers and a team-high 35 RBI.  
 
Redshirt sophomore lefty Connor Eason (Chesapeake, Va.) made two appearances last week for the Peninsula Pilots of the Coastal Plain League. He logged four innings and struck out six
 
Junior second baseman JD Dutka (Suwanee, Ga.) did not play in any games last week for the Norcross Astros of the Sunbelt League. He has seen action in five games thus far, tallying two hits with two runs scored and three RBI.
