Thought you locals would be interested...Was driving down Fowler towards I-275 today, and saw a Banner in front of the old Hops restaurant for "The Bull Ring Sports Bar".   The "U" was our very own iconic one.

Looks like they're converting the old Hops to a USF-tailored sports bar!  :-)

Though they still have quite a bit of work to do before grand opening....

Anybody got the scoop on that?

I hope the owners put some work into it... and the students make it theirs.  Too bad they wont open till after the season.

If it is a decent place i will encourage some of my fraternity events there, and since quite a few of us show some strong school spirit we'll likely give it a try at least once.

Hey Everyone:

The Bull Ring will be a USF themed sports bar.  A pretty nice one.  The owners have talked with USF about a lot of things as they want to partner with us.  I know they have talked about running shuttles to and from campus to the restaurant.  We will look at it as another place to do watch parties but we don't want to alienate those that have been supporting us throughout the years just because something bigger and brighter comes along.

Last I hear grand opening isn't going to be until November or December but who knows.  We are excited about it and look forward to having events there as well.

It would be great to have the coaches call-in shows from a place like this instead a place like "Splitsville", which is difficult for some of us to attend.
