At least one professional sports owner is supporting the local university!   Thanks, George!  He has a proven record of supporting the Bulls, both with his time and money.  Long time Basketball season ticket owner, donor and now letting us use his marquee in front of legions field.  The Glazers have done nothing to support USF, instead they have fought to allow usf to put up a commenerative plaque in rjs, demanded all non ticket revenue and won't help out with resodding.  Thanks MG!

If I read right today, the Legends Field Marquee said "Tickets $99" not "SEASON Tickets $99".  Some people might be confused by that omission...

Wasn't there some talk recently about holding the Big East Baseball Conference tourney at Legends Field? I seem to remember reading something like that.

Here it is:

By GREG AUMAN, Times Staff Writer

Published April 20, 2005

THIS AND THAT: USF plays host to the Big East tennis championships this week, and the Bulls hope to be hosting other spring tournaments in their new league. Included in commissioner Mike Tranghese's visit to Tampa last week was a tour of Legends Field, which could be home to future Big East baseball championships. That tournament's current home is Commerce Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater, N.J., where it drew 1,351 fans for its title game last spring. ... USF baseball, in fourth place in the Conference USA standings with a 9-5 league record, faces a crucial stretch ahead, with series against three of the top five teams in the standings. Two of those series are at home, with four games against Alabama-Birmingham this weekend and four against preseason No. 1 Tulane two weeks later.
