Don't know if this has been discussed recently, but looks like Miami is filling up their OOC schedule with everyone except USF.

2006 FAMU (I've seen Cincinnati on some sites' schedules too)

2007 Oklahoma

2008 UF

2009 Oklahoma

John Gerdes said this in the chatroom the other night that Miami will return the game but they have to work out a mutually satisfactory date:

lilbull <Q>When will miami play here

John_Gerdes <A>Jim Leavitt has indicated that it has as much to do with us finding the right scheduling combination as it does for Miami. But it will get done. They will make good on their agreement to play here

The UM AD said this about the return game: "It's probably somewhere between '08 and '10,"

Football: USF must wait

to host Hurricanes

USF opens a home-and-home series at Miami on Oct. 1, but it probably will have to wait until at least 2008 for the Hurricanes to come to Raymond James Stadium.

Miami athletic director Paul Dee said he is close to finalizing a game with Florida A&M that will complete his 2006 schedule and is in similar negotiations to fill his last 2007 slots. So barring any last-minute complications, Miami won't be coming to Tampa for at least three years.

"It's probably somewhere between '08 and '10," said Dee, who has been in discussions with USF athletic director Doug Woolard to find a date ideal for both schools.

Times staff writer Greg Auman contributed to this report, which also used information from the Associated Press.

What?  They signed a deal for a return game in '06 or '07...if they don't do it in one of those two years, they should have to pay something.  At least that was my understanding of the deal, was a return game in '06 or possibly '07....'08 to '10 is bogus.

Hurricanes and Gators possibly in same season...(we have the Gators scheduled in 08 and 09...  Add in FSU and let's just get this taken care of...

National Champs is usually pretty accurate on future schedules - correct?

Are all these UCF dates plus North Texas and Marshall for real?

The UCF games are correct.

UCF has agreements with UM and UF for upcoming seasons.  @ UF next year and again in like 2008 or 2009, something like that, with the possibilty of being @ UCF in the future.

There was some talk about a 1-1 with FSU, but FSU wanted a 3-1 or 2-0 deal that GOL would not go for.

I guess we will see what happens.  Some might be moved or cancelled.

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
