BASEBALL OVER FOOTBALL: The news that former Armwood defensive back R.J. Anderson opted for professional baseball instead of football at USF neither surprised nor disappointed Hawks coach Sean Callahan . "Baseball was always his No.1 love," Callahan said. Anderson signed with the Texas Rangers.

The price of prized recruits...I'm sure Cardieri and Leavitt are both disappointed.

Please Smazza, this sort of thing happens to every program, as im sure you know.  You will ignore any factual evidence if it gives you the opportunity to make a negative comment.

so we shouldn't offer scholarships to talented kids who may opt to try and play a professional sport  ::)

try putting yourself in this kids position.....

He was worth the risk of a scholarship offer.

we need players that are commited to football

these are football scholarships

rj is coming to usf

i didn't offern him a scholarship!  i look like a genius compared to leavitt

we wasted time and money on him that could have been used to recruit a kid that would play for us

velcro- i am amazed how you miss the obvious

usf can't afford this happening.USC can.

we should target football players

Yeah...we should have never given the time of day to this kid who is 10 miles from campus!   Many schools would have given part of their sack to get a  yes from this guy!

smazza,

The more you write, the more you prove you really don't know much.  There are some kids you take a chance on.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
