I like the Golden Arches. Think of the revenue they could get from McD's for naming rights. The could donate the money for sensitivity training classes for all its students, Alum & fans.

They wouldn't get a contract with MCD's, they'd get sued by McD's, and be force to change it again.

I think they need to just choose a symbol instead of a name.

the school formerly known as Marquette

I like Bulliever's suggestions. If I may add a couple more:

Marquette Fiasco

Marquette Pooch-Screwers

Marquette United Colors of Benetton

Within the next two weeks, a list of as many as 10 names will be presented to the Marquette community.  All the names presented will be selected from the hundreds of names suggested by the Marquette community during either the 1994 or 2004 nickname processes.

Yeah -- they're going to give the Marquette community a list of choices they've already decided on, while ignoring the fact that 99% of them have made it clear that they want "Warriors."

I wonder what the Marquette leadership will do next week, after they've been flooded with write-in votes for "Warriors."

While the final list has not been decided, the list will certainly include some of the obvious names given Marquette’s athletics history, including Blue and Gold, Golden Avalanche, Hilltoppers and Golden Eagles.

This is so absofarkingludicrous I can't even stand it. A history of Marquette athletics that doesn't mention "Warriors" is kinda like a history of Alabama football that doesn't mention Bear Bryant.

Marquette Golden Nondescripts

Marquette Blue Nebulous

Marquette Rainbow Pacifists

Marquette Malaprops

Sorry all, these great ideas come to me out of no where...I just hope they get included on someone's ballot.

The cheeseburger was invented in Louisville not Wisconsin as you might think.  They obviously cant invent anything up there.  Especially not nicknames.  This PC crap is a joke.

Couldnt happen to a classier bunch.
