Louk has been broadcasting games for 33 years and is the resident historian in the Athletics Department hallways. By JIM LOUK Voice of the USF Bulls TAMPA, SEPT. 4, 2015 - Here we go! It’s been a long offseason, but the 19th year of USF Football begins Saturday night against Florida A&M. As you prepare for the tailgates and all the activities associated with Bulls football, here are a few bits of information that will allow you to be the most informed Bulls fan around the grill: - This will be the third meeting between the Bulls and the Rattlers. USF won the first, 37-3, on Sept. 10, 2005. USF won, 70-17, in the most recent meeting, on Sept. 17, 2011. - Your Bulls have set some incredible team offensive records against Florida A&M. Among them: most yards in a game (745 in 2011), most yards passing (477 in 2011), most net yards rushing (377 in 2005), most first downs (39 in 2011) and most points in the first half (49 in 2011). - USF’s top two rushing games against Florida A&M belong to Andre Hall (156 yards in 2005) and Darrell Scott (146 yards in 2011). - B.J. Daniels and Darrell Scott combined on the fourth-longest touchdown pass in Bulls history (84 yards) against the Rattlers in 2011. It remains the longest touchdown reception by a running back in the team record book. - Daniels had 382 yards passing against Florida A&M in 2011, a team record until B.J. broke the mark against Cincinnati a month later. That, Bulls fans, is a lot of work by the offense for just two games. I hope you’ll enjoy the whole experience at Raymond James Stadium this weekend. Get there early and have fun in the Bulls Zone, located in the south parking lots. There’ll be more activities than ever there. In the stadium, you’ll notice that the student section, now known as The Herd, will be louder than ever with the inclusion of our terrific marching band in the end zone. If you’re not in Tampa, enjoy the game on ESPN3 or tune us in on radio on our new flagship station, AM 820 in Tampa. We’ll also stream the audio free of charge on GoUSFBulls.com and on the Tune-In app. Radio pre-game is at 5 p.m., the kickoff is at 7 p.m. I really believe this is going to be a good, good year for USF Football. I hope you’ll be there right from the start as a new journey begins. See you this Saturday! GO BULLS!
