USF is represented by Director of Athletics Mark Harlan, Head Coach Willie Taggart, and student-athletes Jamie Byrd (Dade City), Mattias Ciabatti (Tampa), Marlon Mack (Sarasota) and Sean Price (Citra) at the two days of events, which begin Monday with the Summer Kickoff Clambake on the shores of Newport Harbor. Approximately 40 student-athletes and the head coaches from all 12 American Conference schools gathered with conference and media representatives for the event. Bulls players and Taggart participated in a circuit of media availabilities Monday with representatives of ESPN, CBS Sports Network and the American Digital Network. The media portion of the event hits full swing Tuesday morning with national media and representatives from around the conference. Much of Tuesday’s media events can be viewed live online on the American Digital Network and ESPN3 will air a special from American Conference Media Days starting at noon on Tuesday. Tuesday’s live-streamed media events begin at 9:00 a.m. with conference commissioner Mike Aresco’s address. Conference coaches will then participate in round table discussions moderated by ESPN’s Kevin Negandhi. Coaches representing the West Division take the stage from 9:45-10:30 a.m. followed by East Division coaches, including Taggart, from 11:15-noon. The address and round tables can be viewed HERE. USF returns 13 starters (5 offense, 7 defense and 1 specialist) for Head Coach Willie Taggart’s third season at the helm. The Bulls will return their top five tacklers (9 the top 12 overall) and players that accounted for 73 percent of the team’s tackles in 2014. USF returns 100 percent of its rushing yardage from 2014, including 1,000-yard rusher Marlon Mack, and 50 percent of its receptions and receiving yards. The USF Football program is in its 19th season overall and 16th at the FBS level. The Bulls have made six bowl appearances, including every season between 2005-10, and have four bowl game victories. USF has produced 14 All-America selections, 25 NFL Draft picks and reached the No. 2 ranking in the Associated Press Poll in 2007.
