  1. The law averages apparently doesn't apply to TuxedoYoda. There are an infinite number of wrong predictions out there for him to make before getting one right.
  2. They sued Southeast High School in Bradenton. Apparently FSU dropped the suit, or there was some type of settlement because they still use the spear on their helmets and the screaming Seminole logo. I'm not sure if they updated it for this year as FSU updated their own logo.
  3. Um, the B12 wants USF. TuxedoYoda's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend retweeted this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who spoke to an athletic director at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
  4. Head-to-head record is just as relevant as anything else that has been brought up, and it has more probative value.
  5. Nice argument Ned, but usfgrad84 and Bull Dally just used the 0-4 head-to-head record trump card and take the point.
  6. I was only commenting on an observation and asking a question. I'm not taking sides on the union issue. The rest of your post was too long so I didn't read it.
  7. I'm not an accountant so I'm not familiar, but has the IRS ever prosecuted an athlete for not reporting this as income? I highly doubt many athletes are claiming this as income, and I don't blame them if it isn't being enforced.
  8. My understanding is that the IRS is being kind by not forcing any food or housing supplied to athletes to be considered income, as it isn't an educational expense. I think we are all aware of how long the IRS's kindness lasts, and unionizing/being deemed an employee would certainly be poking the hornet's nest. This move could come back to bite all college athletes if it stirs the IRS into enforcing housing and food athletes receive to be claimed as income.
  9. You claim incoming freshman are smarter today than in the past....I think it's time for you to get off my lawn.
  10. Jason Kidd removed Lawrence Frank and the Nets improved. It is possible that our young coaches are the "talent" needed to win. Of course they may be a complete mess which is par for the course with USF athletics.
  11. I've only read the comments here, but they are encouraging: http://kentuckysportsradio.com/basketball-2/orlando-antigua-hired-by-south-florida/
  12. It's pretty impressive to see the reaction of UK fans. Generally their posts say they are upset to see him leave, but wish him the best of luck because they all knew this day was coming. Many are openly wishing he stays on throughout the UK's time in the tournament. I don't think any of the other candidates had this much positive energy surrounding them. No matter what he does with this team, I will always think this appeared to be the right hire at the time it occurred. Normally I am down on Genshaft, but she and Harlan pulled this one out after a disastrous start.
  13. If their people are in anyway responsible for the information leaks the only thing that got banged was USF.
  14. More importantly than media perception is candidate perception. The media leaks and lack of clear leadership in hiring has to be concerning for candidates.
  15. Are you certain Mark Harlan feels the same way? If he wants to make national headlines in his first month on the job hiring Bruce Pearl would do that.
  16. I think Selvie is under contract for 2014 at ~$750k. After the way he played this past season that is a bargain, and Dallas is close to the cap. I doubt they can afford to make a major move at the position so he should see plenty of playing time again in some type of rotation.
  17. Great. He secured a lease at an off-campus venue, but fans here clamor for an on-campus stadium. He helped to sabotage his own side in coach negotiations as few coaches would want to leave UCLA if they were doing well enough to get poached. Firing Alford became very costly. To think, I was starting to get optimistic about USF athletics after seeing Mike White actually complete a pass.
  18. Impressive. 6'2" or 3" is plenty tall, and he may not be done growing. It will be interesting to see how he fills out over the next year and where he decides to go. Looks like he is UF bound, but I guess we never know. Hope and expect to see him terrorizing QBs in the near future.
  19. After last season, I'm not even sure that one side is guaranteed a win in the Spring Game. That could turn into a double-loss.
  20. I like the idea and hope it expands to some other local football powerhouses.
  21. That sounds like a lot of work, and he doesn't seem to be fond of work.
  22. Maybe we can allow the new guy some of those boiled peanuts we get in the TV deal. The cajun variety are pretty good.
