  1. My sources tell me that the B12 is worried about being able to "sell" ESPN on expansion candidates. They say that a 2,000 page rumor thread is the only surefire way for a school to prove their value and gain approval from their ESPN overlord. Nobody is getting in until this happens.
  2. It'd be interesting to see a conference control their own destiny by streaming their own games and seeking out their own advertising dollars. Jumping to Netflix or Amazon might be the next step, but I foresee a future where the big boys (SEC/B1G) broadcast games online without anybody standing between them and the ad dollars.
  3. I feel like we've seen this move before. Several teams will get in, Texas and Oklahoma will depart after the conference is watered down, and another power conference is dismissed from the table. There's no point in splitting profits 5 ways when they're easily divisible by 4.
  4. I prefer my unverified speculative rumors from screen names that involve puppets in formal attire instead of guys with less than 200 followers. Especially when the puppet's view aligns with what I want.
  5. I've got it on good anonymous authority that the B12 is basing their decision solely on which message board can produce a 1,000 page expansion rumor thread first. My source says it has something to do with trees falling in the woods and noises.
  6. I don't understand the concept of Cincinnati being WVU's "travel partner." Do they intend to share plane rides and split hotels with WVU or something? What benefit does having a conference member close to WVU bring to the other conference members? More importantly, how does it benefit UT? Would the other conference members really try to appease WVU by putting somebody else out there on their island? It's not like WVU has the option to leave. That was made obvious prior to their admittance into the B12. That being said, Cincinnati has built a solid sports program, and is in a large market and fertile recruiting ground. Their fans are pretty good, but they are still overshadowed in that market by tOSU just like UF/FSU still dominate Tampa and Orlando.
  7. I agree with smazz...ugh...I refuse to say it. He is right thoug.....argh!
  8. I don't understand how university financing works. Could money gained by the auction of WUSF's spectrum be used directly for a stadium? Some estimates show the sale being very profitable for USF.
  9. The B12 invited TCU to join when they already controlled the Texas market. There's no reason they won't do it again considering how well Houston has performed and the upward trajectory of their program.
  10. 16-20 in 3 years at WKU, and USF hired him. I don't think his record paints an accurate picture of how good of a coach he is. He stepped into two tough situations, and he pulled the nose up on both of them. I find it impressive that he changed his entire offensive philosophy to play to his teams strengths. Based on his age and what he has shown so far, I think he has a much higher ceiling than the retreads that interviewed for the Gamecock job.
  11. Based on my internet research, we are way ahead of Temple on getting an OCS. They're still working on highlighting possible sites and haven't even started photoshopping stadiums onto those sites yet.
  12. Is there any chance that a large chunk of the funding will come from the auction of WUSF?
  13. It's hard to believe that USF may end up with two good QBs battling it out for the starting job next year. If only one of them could catch a ride in a DeLorean to make the post-Daniels years a little more bearable.
  14. A lot of people on here, myself included, thought 5 wins was the ceiling for this team. The idea that they have 3 chances to pickup a 6th win and go bowling is awesome. Taggart has done a great job recruiting, and if he can continue to win a few games each year, it will only get better. A bowl game would be another step in the right direction. I'm really excited about the team's development and having quite a few guys return next year. It's going to be a long offseason, especially if it's not shortened a little bit by a trip to a bowl game.
  15. Give him a couple years to fizzle out at another program before offering him. Maybe we can get him to come here as a QB after a position change and/or long periods of time on the bench.
  16. It seems like a lot of people on here feel confident that White had this in the bag from the start. If that's the case, it's a shame that CWT wasted so many first team reps on Bench.
  17. Congrats to him!. Hope he has everything on track and makes the most of this opportunity. It's too bad things never worked out here at USF.
  18. The law averages apparently doesn't apply to TuxedoYoda. There are an infinite number of wrong predictions out there for him to make before getting one right.
  19. They sued Southeast High School in Bradenton. Apparently FSU dropped the suit, or there was some type of settlement because they still use the spear on their helmets and the screaming Seminole logo. I'm not sure if they updated it for this year as FSU updated their own logo.
  20. Um, the B12 wants USF. TuxedoYoda's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend retweeted this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who spoke to an athletic director at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
  21. Head-to-head record is just as relevant as anything else that has been brought up, and it has more probative value.
  22. Nice argument Ned, but usfgrad84 and Bull Dally just used the 0-4 head-to-head record trump card and take the point.
