  1. As the P2 distance themselves from the rest of us, has anyone seen what impact that would have on their tv ratings? Certainly the networks have done research on the issue, but it seems like alienating fan bases would eventually have consequences. My interest in the B1G and SEC is pretty limited, but I admittedly tune in for the premier matchups. That will likely change if/when they break off or seize all the seats at the table. I don’t imagine I’m alone.
  2. No idea if he’s right or not, but his prediction doesn’t make sense to me. FSU will likely be AAU accredited in the not too distant future. UVA is not likely to be nationally relevant in football in the not too distant future. I assume FSU has more tv value based on this.
  3. The networks must be crawling all over themselves to sign 2Pac and the MWC. Wyoming v. Wazzu is must watch tv.
  4. 55 in RPI. Obviously ditching that for NET was a conspiracy to keep us out. If we don’t get in we can always blame the conference and sue them to get out with no apparent place to go.
  5. I don’t think it’s confusion as much as it is frustration. Obviously the early season losses are preventing our upward movement, but it starts to seem illogical when you see Memphis, UNT, and Charlotte above us or SMU at 49.
  6. Honest question, how is the current makeup of the B12 significantly different than that of the ACC less FSU and Clemson? To me, it seems like a draw and they’re interchangeable as 3rd and 4th best, but online people act like the ACC is vastly inferior. Am I underestimating the appeal of Ok. St. And WVU?
  7. Did he post his “important tweet” yet? I’m on the edge of my seat.
  8. I guess sarcasm doesn’t convey well in text, and I failed to recognize my audience.
  9. I agree that the ACC is very close to the verge of death, but the remnants still look better than the B12. If the ACC dies the B12 can start the clock on their demise as well. There’s no world where the B10/SEC let them stay at the grownups table with Ok. St. and WVU being their premier teams. The tv markets largely include cornfields and the dust bowl, so there’s little appeal there unless cattle start watching games.
  10. A random guy on the internet citing a well-connected source said it, so it’s true.
  11. I think I’ve seen this show before. FSU, Clemson, and UNC will continue to block expansion before accepting invitations to other conferences. At that point the remaining ACC schools will get picked over by the P3 with a few leftovers being relegated to the AAC.
  12. McMurphy’s version also makes sense. I live in WA and don’t have a clue how you get to WSU besides sitting in a car for hours. I’m guessing teams would fly into Spokane and take an hour and a half bus ride there from the airport. There aren’t a ton of direct flights, so it really is a long trip with a layover. It’s not very practical for any sport besides football, and the reward is landing a school with no significant national interest or any interest at all outside of eastern WA. Their fans are fervent, but there just isn’t a huge population near the school. I’m pretty biased, but there’s no reason to take them on as a member if USF, SMU, UCONN, or really any school in a heavily populated region are available.
  13. What’s really wild about this is that every conference seems to think they’re safe until they aren’t. The MWC was just minding its own business and appeared relatively safe staying in its lane. Now the powers that be will effectively kill it. The PAC arrogantly acted elite and untouchable and they’re gone. The Big East made every misstep. The ACC seems to be following suit, and even after adding three teams likely isn’t long for this world if they can’t get their top teams more money. The B12 is enjoying relative safety, but I wouldn’t be willing to bet that it exists 10 years from now. It really is a slow takeover by the B1G and SEC, and no one has made any attempt to stand up to them.
  14. If it was UNC I wish they would’ve listened to their women’s soccer coach who this week said “…basically, I want Stanford and Cal to die on the vine” when asked about adding them to the ACC. It’s hard not to appreciate the honesty.
  15. Stanford and Cal to the ACC was the obvious conclusion all along. The bright side is that some “sources” at least mentioned USF as an expansion candidate, and if we have some on the field success we will likely get the call up in the future. For now, I am rooting for FSU and Clemson to exit the ACC leaving Stanford and Cal in a crumbling cross country conference with a ridiculous GOR that they likely signed out of desperation and no media money.
  16. That doesn’t sound like something Saban would do. 15 years ago when we had our moment in the sun he insulted the program and said our players didn’t have good enough grades to get into better known programs. Also, I don’t know if you’ve dealt with ‘Bama fans, but they’re not reasonable people.
  17. What happened to Tuxedo Yoda? I always liked the idea of baseless rumors being spread as insider information coming from a puppet in formal attire.
  18. I may need to rewatch the game, but I recall thinking a few of the shorter passes were placed in places where receivers didn’t have an opportunity to make a play after the catch. Of course that doesn’t include balls thrown to McCants because even when his back is turned to a defender he’s getting some yards after a catch.
  19. I thought I was jaded to the world after working as a prosecutor. However, reading the excerpts from the latest complaint online made me close my browser in disgust. The older players systematically used freshmen players to lure female freshmen students to parties so they could drug and gang **** them. If the ongoing Texas Rangers' investigation determines the allegations are true and if the staff had any knowledge about what was going on, this should be the end of the program. Art Briles should be criminally prosecuted for enabling this behavior.
  20. Since they were dismissed from the team do they get to play this season?
  21. Thanks for the clarification. Hopefully they all come out of this OK, and it can be a learning experience for all involved.
  22. If similar workouts were in place here, is it possible that over exertion was to blame for us falling apart in the second half of games?
